| What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a set of therapeutic methods that use the phenomenon of organism's reactivity to stimuli to prevent progress and recurrence of diseases and to remove ailments. Physiotherapists restore the fitness of people after accidents, disabled people, sportsmen and seniors. They work in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, biological regeneration and sports clubs.

The aim of the studies is to prepare graduates for the profession of physiotherapist by gaining knowledge and gaining the skills necessary to shape, maintain and restore fitness and efficiency of people of different ages, lost or reduced as a result of diseases or injuries. In addition, the aim of study is to enable students to acquire knowledge in the theory, methodology and practice of physiotherapy, diganostic skills and performing physiotherapy, massage, kinesitherapy, techniques in the field of manual therapy and the use of orthopedic supplies. The studies are to enable the physical fitness necessary to properly demonstrate and carry out kinesitherapy in sick and disabled people. In the field of social competence, the studies are to give the opportunity to perform in individual work with the patient and to cooperate in a therapeutic team.

A physiotherapy graduate possesses the extended knowledge and skills necessary to perform research in the field of functional diagnostics and planning, implementation and control of the physiotherapy process, thanks to which he is fully prepared for further scientific development. After passing the state examination he is prepared to practice the physiotherapist as well as to run his own physiotherapeutic practice.

The graduate obtains preparation for work in:

  • centers for people with disabilities,
  • specialist training and rehabilitation centers,
  • spas,
  • Physiotherapy and rehabilitation sanatories,
  • hospices and nursing homes,
  • shelters and sheltered workshops,
